These buildings that form a farm in Galloway were sketched many years ago whilst walking in the area. The painting is primarily about the buildings and the silhouetted chimneys but I also wanted to show the surrounding landscape and the hills beyond. The sky was painted entirely wet into wet but the foreground was executed using a dry brush technique.
