When driving around Lincolnshire during the harvest time I am always seduced by the golden filelds in the colour of the cereal, the stubble after the combine harvester has crawled over the field or even the textures and colours of the harrowed fields. Since living in Lincolnshire I find it impossible not to paint a harvest scene every year and the way in which the Cathdral is visible for miles around helps to anchor the scene to its county.
