Whilst thumbing through a sketchbook from 1984 I found a sketch of this group of farm buildings in the Brecon Beacons. I recalled the rough stone walls of the buildings and wanted to get the texture recorded. I also wanted to create the sense of loneliness in this isolated spot and hope that I have achieved this despite the close up view of the buildings.
