When I decided to work up this small watercolour from the initial sketch I particularly wanted to recall the warmth of the morning that was going to turn into a very hot day.With this in mind I simply concentrated on colour to echo the colours of the Mediterranean and the bleached buildings to show the heat of the day. The red flag was too visually exciting to omit!
